Kurz nach ihrem Abschluss an der Kunstakademie an der Fakultät für Architektur und Design im polnischen Poznań, wurde AGATA BIELEŃs erste Kollektion in der renommierten YES Gallery ausgestellt. 2013 wurde sie für den HUSH SELECTED Award nominiert und von der Zeitschrift ELLE unter die 20 vielversprechendsten Gesichter der jungen polnischen Modegeneration gewählt. 2015 folgte die Nominierung durch DESIGN ALIVE für den Desin-Oscar in der Kategorie der "Suche nach Schönheit und Noblesse in der Einfachheit". Dazu kommt, dass Agata eine der wenigen polnischen Frauen ist, die von Scott Schumann/The Sartorialist fotografiert wurden – einem Genie in seinem Fach, der de facto die Street-Fashion-Fotografie in ihrer heutigen Form geprägt hat. Soviel vorneweg.
Dreh- und Angelpunkt der Arbeiten von AGATA ist die LINIE: die Grundform der Geometrie, die sich gerade zwischen zwei Punkten gezogen und im Raum verformt zu einem zarten und leichten Objekt verwandelt. Seit 2010 hat die junge Frau eine Reihe von Schmuckkollektionen herausgebracht, die alle auf diesem einen Hauptmotiv basieren: eine Linie, die im Raum geknickt, gebogen und mit anderen Linien verbunden wird, wodurch überraschend poetische dreidimensionale Formen entstehen. Komfort und Funktion gehen dabei Hand in Hand mit einer klaren und rohen Einfachheit. Jedes Stück wird in Handarbeit aus Edelstahl, Silber oder Gold mit viel Liebe zum Detail gefertigt – ganz nach dem Motto: Einfach ist schön und weniger ist mehr.
Die kleine Boutique im Herzen von Poznań vereint die gesamte Bandbreite von AGATA's künstlerischem Schaffen: zarte Schmuckstücke und minimalistische Grafikdesignkunst präsentiert in einem Raumkonzept, der wie die Faust aufs Auge passt. Der Boden ein geschliffener Estrich, die Wände weiß, dazu eine markante Akzentleuchte. Mehr braucht es nicht als perfekte Bühne für die kleinen, skulpturalen Funktionsformen oder linearen Grafiken. Den gelungenen Kontrast zu diesem modernen Interieur bildet das historische Schaufenster des Altbaus, das die Vorüberschlendernden nahezu magisch anzuziehen scheint. Von den ersten Modellen und mittlerweile echten Klassikern der BASIC LINE von 2010 über Einzelstücke bis hin zu kompletten Neuheiten findet in dem kleinen Showroom jedes Modell gebührend Platz und Aufmerksamkeit. Meine Favoriten (obwohl das schon eher der Qual der Wahl gleicht): OUT LINE und der KNOT RING.

In a short period of time after her graduation from Fine Academy of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Architecture and Design in Poznań, Poland, AGATA BIELEŃ's first collection has resulted in debut exhibition at well-known YES Gallery. In 2013 she was nominated for HUSH SELECTED award and selected by ELLE magazine as one of the 20 most promising people of polish fashion 20-year-olds generation. In 2015 AGATA was awarded an Oscar Design nomination by DESIGN ALIVE in the creator category „for finding beauty and nobility in simplicity”. Sure thing, Agata must be one of few polish women photographed by Scott Schumann/The Sartorialist – a genius who de facto created street fashion photography in its current form. Just to begin with.
Talking about AGATA's work, it all comes to LINES: the basic unit of geometry, straight stretched between two points and formed in space turning into a delicate and light object. Since 2010 the young woman has released a couple of jewellery collections exploring this main motive: a line broken, bent and bonded in space surprisingly creating a three-dimensional form. Comfort and function come hand in hand with clear and raw simplicity. Each form is handcrafted of stainless steel, silver or gold with the utmost attention towards detail following the idea that simple is beautiful and less is more.
The small boutique in the heart of Poznań unites the entire spectrum of AGATA's artistic work: delicate pieces of jewellery and minimalist graphic design art presented in a spatial concept that fits like a glove. The floor a polished screed, the walls white, plus a striking accent light. Nothing more is needed as a perfect stage for the small, sculptural functional forms or linear graphics. The successful contrast to this modern interior is the historic shop window of the old building, which seems to almost magically attract those strolling past. From the first pieces and now genuine classics of the BASIC LINE from 2010 to individual pieces and complete novelties, every model finds due space and attention in the small showroom. My very own favourites (although that is more like being spoilt for choice): OUT LINE plus KNOT RING.
