Das Studio CHYBIK + KRISTOF Architects and Urban Designers wurde 2010 von Ondřej Chybik und Michal Krištof gegründet und führt mittlerweile äußerst erfolgreiche Zweigstellen in Brünn, Prag [CZ] und Bratislava [SK]. Die sehr individuelle und interdisziplinär ausgerichtete Herangehensweise an jedes neue Projekt zeigt auch die Intention der Architekten, dass deren Konzepte positiv Einfluss nehmen sollen auf den Bauplatz, die Umgebung, die Stadt oder die Landschaft. Es ist also wenig überraschend, dass CHYBIK + KRISTOF explizit für Kunden sowohl aus dem privaten als auch öffentlichen Sektor arbeiten, da sich auf diese Weise immer wieder neue Dimensionen und Typologien bei den Planungsaufgaben ergeben.
Die Projekte von CHYBIK + KRISTOF strahlen immer viel Atmosphäre aus, es sind starke Entwürfe, die ein hohes Maß an Hingabe bis zum kleinsten Detail zeigen. Gerade bei einem der neuesten Projekte, der 2020 fertiggestellten LAHOFER WINERY inmitten der ländlichen Idylle der Südmährischen Weinberge, wird dies deutlich. Die Struktur des Gebäudes nimmt die Abstände der Reihen der Weinreben auf, sodass der Weinberg sozusagen im Inneren des Gebäudes fortgeführt und an jeder Stelle wahrgenommen wird. Das begehbare Dach dient der Entspannung oder kulturellen Events. Und Zufall oder nicht - auch ein weiteres spannendes Projekt widmet sich dem Thema Wein: Das HOUSE OF WINE befindet sich in Znojmo in einer ehemaligen Brauereihalle aus dem 19. Jahrhundert (ja - Wein ist definitiv im Kommen!). Heute können Besucher hier eine Menge über die lange Geschichte des Weinbaus in der Region lernen - und natürlich den Wein auch verkosten. Absolut spannend aus meiner Sicht ist auch das aktuelle Projekt des make-overs des ZVONAŘKA CENTRAL BUS TERMINAL in Brünn. Zum Einen soll bei diesem selbstinitiierten Projekt nämlich die Brutalisitische Struktur erhalten bleiben, zum Anderen wird der öffentliche Raum des Busterminals nach dem Umbau viel offener und einladender erscheinen.
Jedes dieser Projekt ist wohl einen Besuch wert - ich mache mich auf jeden Fall so bald als möglich auf den Weg ...

[CZ/SK] "Taking into account local histories and environmental specificities,
the studio works in the fields of architecture, urbanism, research, education and on a wide array of projects, ranging from urban developments to public and private buildings."
Studio CHYBIK + KRISTOF Architects and Urban Designers was founded in 2010 by Ondřej Chybik and Michal Krištof and is now running three successful offices at Brno, Prague [CZ] and Bratislava [SK]. Their very unique and broad approach to every new project shows the intention of each of their concepts making a positive impact within the entrusted site, its surrounding, city or a landscape. So it is not really surprising, that CHYBIK + KRISTOF work with clients from both the private and public sectors, allowing them to operate across a variety of scales and typologies within the studio.
Their projects are always very atmospheric, strong and show a lot of dedication to each and every detail. You can see and feel this very well at 2020 finished LAHOFER WINERY within the scenic South Moravian countryside of vineyards. The building structure refers to the width of the rows of grapevines, which can be perceived everywhere inside. Also the roof can be used for cultural events or to just hang out a bit. Coincidence or not - another impressing project also is dedicated to wine - Znojmo based HOUSE OF WINE is situated in a 19th-century former brewery hall (yap - wine is on the rise!). Nowadays visitors can learn here about the rich wine history of the region - and of course taste a lot of wine. As well very exciting from my point of view is their self-initiated concept for a makeover of the ZVONAŘKA CENTRAL BUS TERMINAL in Brno. While the existing Brutalist heritage of the structure should be preserved, public spaces are about to be much more open and inviting.
Every project is worth a visit for its own reasons - as soon as this might be possible again ...
