Was ganz klein als Diplomarbeit von Kateřina Šachová begann, ist heute in Prag und darüber hinaus bei Fans des feinen Papiers äußerst beliebt und auch durchaus bekannt. Das Ziel von PAPELOTE war - und ist es noch, die (fast) vergessene Schönheit von Briefpapier sowie die Bedeutung von Papier in unserem täglichen Leben wieder zu entdecken. Die drei Miteigentümer und ihr interdisziplinäres Team glauben ganz fest daran, dass Kreativität auf dem Papier beginnt und dass ein leeres Blatt der erste Schritt in die Richtung einer besseren Welt ist - einer Welt, die - so hoffen sie - kreativ, inspirierend und verantwortungsbewusst ist. Daher produziert PAPELOTE ausschließlich regional unter der Verwendung nachhaltiger Materialien, da eines ihrer Hauptanliegen darin besteht, umweltbewusst zu agieren.
Bereits 2010 sorgten PAPELOTE mit dem von A1 Architects entworfenen Ladendesign für großes Aufsehen in der Kreativwelt. Dieser kleine Laden in der Prager Neustadt war so anders, so überraschend, so liebevoll und so cool designt, dass sich ein Besuch gleich in mehrfacher Hinsicht lohnte. Zumal das "damals" etwas ganz neues für die heute so hippe tschechische Hauptstadt war. Die Zeit vergeht und 10 Jahre später findet sich PAPELOTE nun im Bezirk Letná auf der anderen Seite der Moldau wieder. Selbstverständlich ebenso schön gestaltet wie die Ursprungs-Location. Dieses mal hatte dabei allerdings Václav Mlynář von Monument Office (und nebenbei bemerkt noch Kreativdirektor für BOMMA) seine Finger im Spiel. Selbstredend, dass ein Besuch für jeden ein Muss ist, der zufällig in die Gegend kommen sollte. Slow Down heißt es dann, in Ruhe stöbern und das passende Briefpapier auswählen für den nächsten (Liebes-)Brief?!

[CZ] it all started as a diploma project ...
PAPELOTE, today well-known maker of stylish stationery in Prague and beyond, started as a diploma project of Kateřina Šachová, who aimed to renew the forgotten beauty of stationery as well as the importance of paper in our day-to-day lives. The three co-owners and their diverse team firmly believe that creativity starts on paper, and that a blank pad is the first step towards a better world - one that is creative, inspirational and responsible. That is also why all of their production is local and they choose only sustainable materials, as it's one of their main concerns to be eco-friendly.
As early as 2010, PAPELOTE caused a sensation within the creative world by letting A1 Architects create a really cool shop design for them. This little shop in Prague's Nové Město was so different, so surprising, so lovingly and so cool designed that a visit was worthwhile in several ways. Especially since "back then" this was something completely new for today's hip Czech capital. Times move on and so did PAPELOTE. Since 2020 they can be found in Letná. Of course as nicely designed as expected. This time Václav Mlynář from Monument Office (by the way as well BOMMA's creative dseigner) created the looks of the PAPELOTE-world. Obviously you should stop by, when you are around the corner, buy some good old paper and write a letter to a loved one ...
