Ich freue mich ganz besonders, dass ich im Rahmen dieses Formats das in Prag ansässige Architektur- und Produktdesignstudio COLL COLL vorstellen darf. COLL COLL stehen für die Kollaboration von Architekten, Designern und Forschern. Seit mehr als einem Jahrzehnt konnten die Kreativen das lokale Architekturgeschehen sowohl durch experimentelle wie kommerzielle Projekte mit gestalten und prägen. Durch das Referenzieren, Neuinterpretieren und die Suche nach Bedeutungen im neuen Kontext versuchen COLL COLL stets über die Grenzen ihrer Profession hinauszudenken. Architektur steht für das Kollektiv gleichbedeutend damit, Probleme zu lösen - ganz egal, um welche Herausforderung es sich handeln mag.
Neben Ausflügen in die Welt des Produktdesigns (das neben einem Spiegel auch eine Leuchte und Haken umfasst), liegt die Stärke von COLL COLL sowohl in der Architektur wie in der Innenraumgestaltung. Und dabei spreche ich nicht nur von den ganz großen Würfen - mir persönlich gefällt beispielsweise das Konzept für den nene Standort von Puro Gelato besonders gut: ein kleiner Eisstand, der in Kollaboration mit Bomma und Industrility.cz realisiert wurde. In meinen Augen außerdem sehr spannend und äußerst progressiv: die VILA SOPHIA in Prag, eine futuristische High-Tech-Villa, die mit ihren Bewohnern kommunizieren kann.
Die Liste an tollen Projekten wäre endlos fortzuführen, aber ich möchte an dieser Stelle nur noch eines hervorheben: Das POLPO by KOGO, ein Restaurant mit mediterraner Küche im Zentrum von Prag. In Anlehnung an den frischen Fisch und die Meeresfrüchte, die man hier genießen darf, wurde das Interiordesign so exakt auf dieses Feeling abgestimmt, dass man beim Betreten des Lokals beinahe denken kann, es würde tatsächlich eine frische Meeresbrise durch den Raum wehen. Ich würde sagen, das allein lohnt einen Besuch - sobald wieder möglich, versteht sich!

I am super happy, that within this format I am able to present to you Prague based architecture and product design studio COLL COLL - a collaboration of architects, designers and researchers. It has been active for more than a decade and has enriched local architecture through both experimental and commercial projects. By referencing, reinterpretation and finding meanings in new contexts COLL COLL always pushes to expand the boundaries of their profession. Architecture to them is about an approach to problem solving, no matter what type of a problem it is.
Besides their work in the field of product design (which ranges from a mirror to a lamp or hooks), COLL COLL is really strong in both architecture and interior concept design. And it is not only about the big things - I am actually totally in love with their design for Puro Gelato: a small Ice cream stand that was realized in collaboration with Bomma and Industrility.cz. Also really interesting and very progressive: VILA SOPHIA, a futuristic high-tech-home that interacts with its inhabitants.
There would be so much more to point out, but my last reference to name here is POLPO by KOGO, a Mediterranean restaurant in the center of Prague. Focusing on fresh seafood, the interior design fits so well, you feel like really breathing the salty sea air when entering this place. So make sure to stop by - as soon as this might be possible again!
